Megan Stratman, Rates and Policy Director

Megan Stratman began working at Northwest Requirement Utilities (NRU) in 2007 as an Energy Policy Analyst.  NRU is a trade association representing the interests of 54 BPA utility customers that rely primarily or exclusively on BPA for their power and transmission needs.  At NRU, Ms. Stratman has been extensively involved in all BPA-related issues, including power, transmission, fish and wildlife, financial issues and energy efficiency.  Ms. Stratman serves as an expert witness in rate cases and actively participates in numerous informal rates and policy processes.

Ms. Stratman was promoted to serve as the Resources and Planning Director of Northwest Energy Management Services in January 2011, a new entity she helped to develop to support a subset of NRU members in acquiring non-federal power supply to serve their load growth.

In 2013-2014, Ms. Stratman worked at Clark Public Utilities as a Contracts and Risk Analyst where she gained knowledge of wholesale power and gas markets and how to analyze, manage and negotiate contractual and credit terms.

Ms. Stratman returned to NRU as an Energy Policy Analyst in 2014 to resume her advocacy on behalf of the NRU membership on BPA and regional matters.  Ms. Stratman was promoted to Rates and Policy Director of NRU in January 2016, and now serves as the lead technical and policy representative of NRU members in BPA and other regional forums.

Ms. Stratman graduated magna cum laude from the University of Oregon with a degree in Economics and History.
